My 1-year-old actually reaches for the spoon now instead of swatting it away, and the little Ariel shape on the handle makes her giggle every time. It suctions to the high chair tray well enough that she can practice scooping without launching the whole plate across the kitchen.

The silicone is thick enough that it doesn't slide around when my daughter pushes her spoon against it, which was a problem with our old plastic plate. The Ariel face on the bottom had her grinning before she even took a bite.

My toddler actually eats her veggies now because she's too busy scooping with the little Ariel-shaped spoon to complain. The silicone plate has a nice weight to it, so it doesn't slide around when she stabs at her food.
